about this research study
Even while on medication, many people with MDD have recurring episodes of their disease. As a result, finding additional future treatment options that can more effectively control MDD symptoms is an important medical need.

In this study, doctors are evaluating an investigational drug called brexpiprazole. It has not been approved for use in the United States, but in previous research studies it has shown positive results.

Based on the results of these studies, doctors believe that brexpiprazole could help MDD patients with their symptoms. The results of this study will provide doctors with more information about brexpiprazole and whether it could one day be used to treat MDD as an add-on therapy to current antidepressant treatments.
